§ 18-227. Payment, determination of fees.

  • (a)

    Before any license shall issue, license fees, determined in accordance with the following schedule, shall be paid, to-wit, for each vehicle designed to carry comfortably inside thereof, exclusive of the driver's compartment or seat:

    (1)

    Not more than five persons ..... $20.00

    (2)

    Not more than seven persons .....  25.00

    (3)

    More than seven persons .....  35.00

    (b)

    Beginning on January 1, 2015, such license shall be issued as of January 1 of each year and shall be effective for the period of one year from such date unless sooner suspended, cancelled, or revoked, as provided in this article. The above fees shall apply for any part of a year ending on the following December 31, and no licensee shall be entitled to a rebate because of the use of such license for a shorter period than one year. No license so granted may be used upon another vehicle after proper compliance with the provisions of this chapter in respect thereto.

    (c)

    Every taxicab licensee shall have his name legibly painted on such vehicle on at least both sides thereof.
