§ 18-706. License required.

  • (a)

    Private haulers. Garbage, refuse, and ashes may be removed from any premises within the city by private rubbish haulers if the resident who wishes the matter removed so desires, but all such haulers, including those who may be under contract to the board of public works and safety, must first procure a license from the city controller.

    (b)

    Fee; expiration. The city controller shall charge the sum of $10.00 annually for each license granted, which license shall expire on December 31 of each year.

    (c)

    Multiple vehicles; number plate; display. If the applicant operates more than one vehicle in the collection and hauling of rubbish, each vehicle must be so licensed, and the city controller shall furnish with each license a number plate which must be prominently and visibly displayed on the licensed vehicle at all times it is engaged in the collecting or hauling of rubbish.
