§ 26-28. Form of registration, permit.

  • (a)

    Registrations and permits issued under this article shall bear the name and address of the person to whom the permit is issued, the serial number of the permit, the date issued, the dates within which the permit holder may solicit, and a statement that the permit holder does not constitute an endorsement by the city or by any of its departments, officers, or employees of the purpose or of the persons conducting this solicitation.

    (b)

    All permits must be signed by the controller or the controller's designee.

    (c)

    Each solicitor of the charity will be provided with an information card or similar identification signed by the person having control and supervision of the solicitation. The card or identification shall carry on its face the name and address of the person to whom the permit was issued, the number of the permit, the dates during which the permit holder may solicit, and shall identify by name the individual holder of the card or identification. Any individual soliciting without the card or identification shall be deemed to be in violation of this chapter. The card or identification shall be provided for the individual solicitor by and at the expense of the permit holder.

    (d)

    Any permit issued by the controller under this article shall not be transferable or assignable.
