§ 2-611. Equal employment opportunities policy.

  • (a)

    It is the policy of the city and city utilities, hereinafter referred to as city, to provide equal employment opportunities to all individuals regardless of their race, religion, color, sex, national origin, ancestry or handicap. This equal employment opportunity refers to all applicable city practices including employee recruiting, hiring, transferring, training, promoting, disciplining, terminating and all other conditions or privileges of employment.

    (b)

    The selection of persons for positions in the city is to be based on the qualifications and abilities required to do the job.

    (c)

    It is the policy of the city to expand and increase efforts of the city to promote the realization of equal employment opportunities throughout all its operations through a positive and continuing program.
