§ 54-141. Installation procedure when street or public way is improved.
Latest version.
Whenever the board of public works desires to improve any street, alley, or other
public place by paving it, and further desires to adopt an improvement resolution
to that effect, the board is authorized to include in the improvement resolution the
installation of sewer, water, gas, wire, and other connections as may be deemed necessary
to accommodate the abutting property along the street, alley, or public place. In
addition, the improvement resolution shall have affixed thereto the necessary plans
and specifications designating the material to be used in the sewer, water, gas, wire,
and other connections, the number and location thereof, and the manner of paying for
them from the main to a point inside the curbline. However, this article shall not
prevent any owner of any abutting property from making the connections and installations
if he makes and completes them in accordance with the plans and specifications for
such connections and installations as designated by the board within 20 days from
the date of the confirmation of the resolution.
