§ 54-222. Owner to place numbers; when city to number.

  • (a)

    The owner or occupant of every house or business place in the city shall place the number assigned to his lot or part thereof, by the city engineer in a conspicuous place on the side of or above the front door of that house or building. The number shall consist of figures not less than three inches in length, and be so made or marked as to be distinctly or easily read.

    (b)

    After the time limited in this division for placing numbers on houses or buildings, the city shall place a number upon any house or building not numbered as aforesaid and recover the cost from the owner or occupant in a civil action.
