§ 62-148. Grease, oil and sand interceptors.

  • Grease, oil and sand interceptors or retainers shall be installed by the user at the user's expense when, in the opinion of the building commissioner or superintendent, such are necessary for the proper handling of liquid wastes containing grease, oils or sand in excessive amounts, or any inflammable wastes, or other such harmful ingredients. Such interceptors shall be of a type and capacity approved by the authority and shall be located as to be readily and easily accessible for cleaning by the user and for inspection by the authority. Where installed, all grease, oil and sand interceptors shall be maintained by the user, at his own expense, and shall be kept in continuous and efficient operation at all times.
