§ 66-50. Definitions.

  • The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this article, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:

    Board means the city board of public works and safety.

    Maintaining means the trimming, care, cutting, pruning, spraying, and preservation of trees, shrubs, vines, hedges, and plants.

    Street means any portion of any street, boulevard, avenue, parkway, thoroughfare, alley, or other public highway lying between the curblines of the street, boulevard, avenue, parkway, thoroughfare, alley, or other public highway.

    Tree and lawn area means the land lying between the city's property line on each side of a public street and the curbline on that side of the public street.

    Trees and shrubs means trees, shrubs, vines, hedges, stumps, and plants.
