A permit shall be obtained before beginning in construction, alteration, repair, or
demolition of any building or structure in the city, the cost of which exceeds $300.00,
or before beginning any other work in the city as described by the various categories
of permitted work set forth in section 101-27(a)—(h), hereinafter, using forms furnished by the building commissioner; and all
fees required by this article shall be paid to the city.
