§ 105-108. Mechanical equipment.

To minimize the impact of mechanical equipment on the appearance of the community, window air conditioning units or condenser elements shall be discouraged. Antennas shall be located where they are not visible from the public right-of-way and/or the St. Joseph River. Mechanical equipment on the ground shall be screened or housed in a structure that is in harmony with the surroundings. Mechanical equipment and/or related appurtenances attached to the side of a building shall be covered or designed in harmony with the building. Mechanical equipment attached to the roof of a building should be kept as low as possible and screened from view at ground level. The use of screening that utilizes appropriate architectural materials shall be encouraged.
