§ 105-171. Signage form.

  • (a)

    The following types of signs shall be encouraged:

    (1)

    Projecting signs;

    (2)

    Suspended signs;

    (3)

    Wall signs;

    (4)

    Marquee signs;

    (5)

    Building identification signs;

    (6)

    Low profile freestanding identification signs;

    (7)

    Menu boards; and

    (8)

    Temporary wall mounted banners.

    (b)

    The following types of signs shall be discouraged:

    (1)

    Off-premises signs;

    (2)

    Freestanding identification signs which exceed eight feet in height;

    (3)

    Automatic changing signs;

    (4)

    Changeable copy signs;

    (5)

    Exterior temporary signs, excepting menu boards and temporary wall mounted banners;

    (6)

    Roof signs; and

    (7)

    Portable signs.

    (c)

    Signs shall be designed in a comprehensive singular manner.

    (d)

    Multiple message type signs shall utilize similar colors, framing materials, and/or styles to compliment each other.

    (e)

    Signs of different styles that are pieced together shall be discouraged.
