§ 129-44. Permit application and fee.

  • (a)

    Applications for sign permits shall be made to the building commissioner upon forms furnished by him. Such applications shall contain the location by street address of the proposed sign, the name and address of the owner, and the name and address of the person erecting the sign. The building commissioner may require the filing of plans or other information relative to the erection and placement of the sign as he sees fit.

    (b)

    No permit for the erection or alteration of a sign shall be issued until the fee for the sign permit is paid to the building commissioner based upon the following schedule:

    (1)

    Freestanding signs shall be calculated for each face measured on the skeleton framework at the rate of $0.40 per square foot, with a minimum permit fee of $15.00.

    (2)

    Signs flat against a building shall be calculated per square foot measured as a total area of display surface at the rate of $0.40 per square foot, with a minimum permit fee of $15.00.

    (3)

    All installations of new off-premises signs shall require a fee of $50.00.
