§ 133-1. Intent.

  • The intent of this chapter is to provide minimum rules, regulations, and standards in order to achieve orderly development in the city through land subdivision; to provide for the proper arrangement of streets in relation to other existing or planned streets; to promote the utilization of land to assure to the residents of the city the best possible environment; to cause land subdivision and resubdivision to be made in accordance with the zoning regulations; and to promote the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens. Any land which is improved or unimproved and which is to be divided into two or more lots for the purpose of sale, lease, or development, using varying types of financing methods, shall be subdivided. This chapter shall be administered to ensure the orderly growth and development, conservation, protection, and proper use of land by adequate provision for circulation, utilities, and services.
