§ 18-325. Rates to be displayed.

  • There shall be posted in each taxicab, for the convenience and information of the passengers, in such manner as to be easily read by any passenger therein, a card or sign, plainly legible, showing the rates of fare under which such taxicab is operating; and the driver shall not demand or be entitled to collect any fare for the conveyance of a passenger unless the card or sign bearing the rates of fare shall be conspicuously displayed; nor shall the driver charge or collect a rate of fare greater than that revealed on the card or sign. Each taximeter installed in such licensed taxicab shall be in accordance with the rates of fare authorized and displayed on such card or sign and not otherwise.
