§ 18-326. Payment in advance.

  • Every driver of a vehicle licensed hereunder shall have the right to demand payment of the estimated legal fare in advance, and may refuse employment unless so prepaid, but no driver shall otherwise refuse or neglect to transport any orderly person anywhere in the city, unless previously engaged or unable to do so. No driver shall carry any person, other than the passenger first employing such vehicle, without the consent of the passenger, and he shall transport passengers to their place of destination by the shortest route.
