§ 18-569. Condition, illness, and/or infections.
(a)
Tattoo artists or body piercers who are experiencing symptoms of acute disease, which include but are not limited to diarrhea, vomiting, fever, rash, productive cough, jaundice, draining or open skin infections, boils, impetigo, or scabies, shall refrain from providing tattoos or performing any body piercing.
(b)
Inquiry shall be made, and anyone giving a history of recent jaundice, hepatitis, or AIDS/HIV shall not be tattooed or body pierced.
(c)
No person, customer, or patron having any skin infection or other disease of the skin or any communicable disease shall be tattooed or body pierced. All infections resulting from the practice of tattooing or body piercing which become known to the operator shall promptly be reported to the county health department and the board by the operator of the tattoo and/or body piercing, and the infected client shall be referred to a physician.
(d)
No tattooing or body piercing shall be done on skin surfaces that have a rash, pimples, or boils or manifest any evidence of unhealthy conditions.
(e)
No tattooing or body piercing shall be done on any person, customer, or patron who is deemed under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.
