§ 30-71. Adoption of state law by reference.

  • (a)

    The city adopts and incorporates by reference the applicable provisions concerning the removal and disposal of abandoned vehicles as set forth in IC 9-22-1-1 et seq. except that the provisions of IC 9-13-2-1 shall be modified to read as follows:

    Abandoned vehicle means a vehicle that is mechanically inoperable or not currently licensed to operate on the public streets and highways of the state and which is left on private property continuously, not fully enclosed by a fully closed and weatherproof structure which is in compliance with all codes of the city, for the storage of vehicles, for more than three days, except that this provision shall not be applicable to motor vehicles or motor vehicle parts not fully enclosed by such a building upon real estate which is properly zoned under the Code of the city for motor vehicle manufacture, sales, service or salvage.

    (b)

    Two copies of IC 9-22-1-1 et seq., are on file in the office of the city clerk as required by IC 36-1-5-4.
