§ 54-19. Conformance to standards established by city engineer.

  • (a)

    The city engineer shall determine and establish the requirements, regulations, and restrictions for any private entrances, driveways, curbs, and approaches as may be necessary to provide for drainage to the highways, streets, and alleys, preservation of the highways, streets, and alleys and conservation and preservation of parking space thereon, and for the safety and convenience of traffic on the highways, streets, and alleys.

    (b)

    All existing private entrances, driveways, curbs, and approaches connecting with any highway, street, or alley in the city, and all future construction, alteration, and changes of private entrances, driveways, curbs, and approaches shall be subject to, comply with, and conform to the plans, regulations, and specifications prepared by the city engineer, which are on file in his office for public inspection.

    (c)

    Should any existing private entrances, driveways, curbs, or approaches connecting with any highway, street, or alley in the city, as they now exist not conform and comply with the plans, specifications, and regulations herein referred to, the owner or occupant of the abutting property shall remove, or move part or all, or relocate or conform the private entrances, driveways, curbs, and approaches to this article when requested to do so by the city engineer within 60 days from the date of the notification.
