§ 101-102. License and bond.

  • (a)

    The building commissioner shall issue all licenses required by this article. A class "A" license shall only be issued after examination and qualification of an applicant for such license and the execution of a bond to the city, with security to be approved by the building commissioner, in the sum of $5,000.00, conditional for the proper performance of an applicant's duties as a heating, air conditioning and ventilating contractor. When issued, such license shall run until December 31 of the year issued, unless sooner revoked. The bond required shall be executed to run concurrently with the license.

    (b)

    Application forms shall provide that applicants provide written proof of workers' compensation coverage and a certificate of insurance for liability.

    (c)

    Applicants shall be examined through a written examination which shall be administered by the building commissioner or his designee. A grade of 70 percent shall be passing to the applicant insofar as the test is used for partial qualification.
